Apparatjik – We Are Here

18 02 2010

Apparatjik is a huge collaboration that consists of bassist Guy Berryman from Coldplay, singer/guitarist Jonas Bjerre of Mew, guitarist/keyboardist Magne Furuholmen from a-ha, and producer Martin Terefe. These guys started working together on a project for BBC 2 and liked what they where doing together so continued to mess around releasing tracks and tidbits on their web site. There first album “We Are Here” has dropped digitally and should be released soon on plastic for those that still like physical copies. This album does not contain the song “Ferreting” that they first did together for BBC 2. The first single that was released back in 2009 was Electric Eye, which has not been included here….but instead the first four tracks of the album have been selected to be previewed.

Cover

Now We Can See is the fourth album from the Portland based indie rock band The Thermals. The album was released on April 7, 2009 on Kill Rock Stars, which is their first album since switching labels from Sub Pop Records. Lead Singer Hutch Harris claimed the album hinges on a leitmotif of “songs from when we were alive.”
